Raritan, NJ - Canon Communications recently announced the winners of their 13th annual Medical Design Excellence Award, recognizing companies and individuals around the world who have helped design, engineer, manufacture, and distribute groundbreaking medical devices and products. Among those honored was the Oralflo Pill Swallowing Cup. The Oralflo cup has already helped thousands of people, particularly children and the elderly, ingest medicine in pill form without having to cut or crush their pills. It is currently in use by hospitals such as St. Jude Children's Hospital, UMass Memorial, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Vanderbilt University Hospital, to name a few. It is distributed by a number of pharmaceutical companies including but not limited to Johnson & Johnson.

Oralflo Cup Named Among "Best of 2008" by Contemporary Pediatrics

Raritan, NJ - The Oralflo Pill Swallowing Cup is among a small number of health products named "Best New Products for Pediatrics 2008" by Contemporary Pediatrics magazine. In the article, Andrew J. Schuman, MD, of Dartmouth Medical School, calls the cup "brilliant in its simplicity." The Oralflo cup is a unique medical device that can make the difference in whether a child takes his or her medicines. While many have difficulty swallowing pills, approximately 40 percent of children with developmental delays or disabilities have this problem. Pill-swallowing difficulties are not confined to the young, however - 40 percent of adults reported problems swallowing medications in a recent Harris survey.
